MAHARASHTRA INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (MIDC)
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), established in 1962 under the MIDC Act of 1961, is the principal agency responsible for the creation of industrial infrastructure in Maharashtra. As a Special Planning Authority, MIDC develops and manages industrial areas in a planned and systematic manner, ensuring that the state remains at the forefront of industrial growth. Over the decades, it has established more than 289 industrial areas covering over 66,000 hectares, including specialized parks for IT, biotechnology, textiles, food processing, gems, and other thrust sectors. With a land bank of over 250,000 acres, MIDC is one of the largest industrial development agencies in India. Guided by its corporate philosophy, “Prosperity to All through Industrialization,” it continues to attract global investments, promote employment generation, and foster balanced regional development.
