STATE INDUSTRIAL AND INVESTMENT CORPORATION OF MAHARASHTRA (SICOM)

The State Industrial and Investment Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (SICOM), established in 1966 by the Government of Maharashtra, was created as the State’s apex financial institution to catalyze industrialization in backward regions. Originally a wholly state-owned enterprise and later partially privatized, SICOM has played a pioneering role in providing long-term project finance, venture funding, and advisory services to industries, infrastructure projects, and emerging sectors such as Information Technology. As the nodal agency for implementing the Government’s Package Scheme of Incentives and facilitating NRI and FDI investments, SICOM has contributed significantly to balanced regional growth by extending financial assistance to more than 3,000 units, mobilizing investments worth thousands of crores, and supporting Maharashtra’s position as a leading destination for industrial and infrastructure development.
